CONNEMARA POLICIES
PUPPY INQUIRIES - To be considered for a pup, we will need to have a phone conversation next.
VISITS - We encourage a visit to see first hand how our puppies are raised. We are usually here and can accommodate most schedules.
RESERVATIONS & DEPOSITS - Deposits are $400 and required to hold a spot on a litter. If you are not sure a Connemara is right for you, please do not place a deposit as they are non-refundable.
PRICING - Most of our pups are priced at $2200. We do not price pups based on sex, coat or other. Families picking up pup in the State of Maine are subject to a 5.5% Sales tax. If pup is being shipped outside the state, collection of tax is not required.
PAYMENT - Balance due when pups are seven (7) weeks old, after you have picked out pup. Puppies go home at eight (8) weeks of age. Payment can be made by cash, check, Visa, Master Card, Discover or any bank debit card. We offer a discount of 2% for cash payment.
SPAY/NEUTER - We do require our families to sign and agree to spaying or neutering their pet.
HEALTH DETAILS WORTH MENTION: - We do not mutilate our puppies...they come with dew claws and tails. We ask that you leave these body parts intact. We have not docked tails or removed dew claws since 2006 - taking this stand years before other breeders dared to.
Our original, foundation stock were all DNA tested for 32 known genetic disease markers. We do not breed carriers, so their offspring can be “Cleared By Parentage”...meaning they do not carry these disease markers at all. So we can in fact, guarantee puppy will never have one of these diseases. We screen for other genetic or congenital defects and DNA test our current dogs as new testing becomes available.
GUARANTEE - We have a comprehensive health guarantee covering dog up to the 5th birthday. Again, we can guarantee against many genetic diseases because our foundation stock has been DNA tested and do not carry these disease markers. If a dog does not carry a specific disease marker, the dog can not pass it on to offspring. See our website for specifics. If your dog suffers from another serious genetic disease or congenital defect that we were not aware of at the time of placement, we will guarantee a very fair solution. Please see website for details.
SHIPPING & TRAVEL - Please see our website page on shipping. In short, we have several options to help get your puppy to you if you live too far to drive for pick-up.
